Welcome to Dhavanam, where Nature meets care, and Quality is our commitment.

 

Back in year 2015, I was enjoying a successful IT career of 20 years with a luxury lifestyle in Dubai.   But a personal struggle with my skin health changed my life journey for ever.  In year 2016, I faced persistent skin rashes that refused to respond to medications. Frustrated, I turned to nature for an answer. I recalled how my grandparents had healthy skin without relying on chemical-laden products. Their secret? Simplicity and natural care. They lived a life free from the stresses of modern living, and their skin reflected that lifestyle.While the stressful life is part and parcel of today’s world, there are other things that we can decide to change. This thought sparked a deeper curiosity within me. What had changed? The only noticeable difference was the chemicals in the skincare products we use and the food we eat every day. While ingredients in fast food and their promise is a different subject of discusison,  The vitamins, moisturizers, and other formulations in skincare products that promised better skin , often did more harm than good. That's when I decided to take matters into my own hands. I said goodbye to my successful IT career and passionately began looking for a way to get back healthy skin.

I began researching the ingredients in soaps and moisturizers and was shocked by the long lists of chemicals. I made a conscious decision to stop using those products and instead, start crafting my own soap. To make a long story short, this led to a journey of discovery, experimentation, and passion. My partner, Sindhu, joined me, and together we started learning soap-making techniques. We faced many challenges, but after two years of hard work, trial, and error, and with advises from professionals,  we successfully created a soap formula that was gentle, naturally moisturizing, and most importantly, free from any synthetic ingredients, including the color of the soap.

We are proud to say that we have never compromised on quality. From the beginning, we are committed to using only premium natural ingredients like food-grade oils (not low quality soap-grade oils), therapeutic-grade essential oils, and high-quality pharma-grade oils. While it is easier to opt for making soaps from ready-made soap bases to save time and money, we took the longer, more labor-intensive but traditional route of soap making by natural oils. Each batch of our natural oil cold process soap takes one month to complete, but we believe that this extra time ensures the highest quality for our customers.

After getting our soaps tested in lab and receiving encouraging feedback from early customers, we decided to take the leap and launch commercially. We registered the name "Dhavanam" and officially launched our website in 2024, backed-up with 6 years  of experience in soap making.

 

We continue to focus exclusively on our natural soap offerings. We are proud to say that -

our customers appreciate the mild, natural fragrance of our soaps—free from overpowering synthetic scents that are so common in commercial products.

It has been a slow but rewarding journey, and we are deeply encouraged by the positive response from our customers.
